como muchos sabran este es un proyecto del bajista john myung(dream theater, the jelly jam), el tecladista derek sherinian(ex-dream theater, planet x y solista), el guitarrista ty tabor(king's x) y el baterista rod morgenstein(dixie dregs). el grupo a sacado 2 discos espero les guste.

El sonido de la música de Platypus puede ser descrito como un rock progresivo moderno guiado por guitarra y teclado, mezclado con diferentes influencias del rock de los 1970s y las escena de rock progresivo, empleando armonías vocales y piezas instrumentales largas.

Unico trabajo oficial de esta banda, grabando para polygram en los ochentas, haciendo giras nacionales como teloneros de grandes bandas. Estos originarios de Agua Prieta, Sonora tuvieron un paso breve en la historia pero su huella quedó marcada en muchas bandas y musicos por ser los padres del hard rock nacional, el cual nunca tuvo un exito comercial hasta la llegada de Coda. Buen material para el estilo que se maneja, todo en ingles.
